Family & Friends CPR

Classroom LearningThe AHA’s Family & Friends® CPR Course a video-based, classroom course intended for anyone who wants to learn CPR and prefers to learn in an Instructor-led or facilitated group environment. This course is for people who do not need a course completion card for a job or other requirements. Family & Friends CPR is ideal for community groups, parents, grandparents, caregivers, schools and students, and others interested in learning how to save a life.

Heartsaver® First Aid is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock, respiratory, cardiac and other first aid emergencies.  The course requires approximately 4 hours, including skills practice and skills testing.

All students must Register prior to the date of the course. There is a minimum class size of 6 students. The class may be cancelled if the minimum class size is not met.

Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED

Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is an instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid; choking relief in adults, children, and infants; and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants.

This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

ITLS

 

ITLS is accepted internationally as the standard training course for prehospital trauma care. It's used as a state-of-the-art continuing education course — and as an essential curriculum in many paramedic, EMT and first-responder training programs.

ITLS courses combine classroom learning and hands-on skill stations. Scenario assessment stations enable you to put your learning to work in simulated trauma situations. ITLS courses are designed, managed and delivered by course directors, coordinators and instructors experienced in EMS, prehospital care and the ITLS approach.

  • This is a 2 day course. You must attend both Saturday and Sunday.
  • Includes lunch

Intended Audience:

The ACLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, and paramedics, as well as others who need an ACLS course completion card for job or other requirements.

HeartCode ACLS is for healthcare professionals and others seeking an alternative delivery method for completing ACLS training.

Notes: After completing the online portion of this course, you must complete a hands-on session (sold separately) with an AHA Training Center to obtain a course completion card.

HeartCode BLS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the BLS Course. HeartCode blended learning delivers quality resuscitation education regardless of where providers are located and gives them more control to complete the course at their own pace. Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode BLS and then complete a hands-on skills session with an AHA BLS Instructor or on a simulation station.

This product has been updated with new science from the 2020 Guidelines for CPR and ECC and replaces the previous version (15-3254). If  you are a student, please confirm with your Training Center that this is the appropriate product for your training.

How does the 2020 Guidelines version of HeartCode differ from the 2015 Guidelines version of HeartCode?
The 2020 Guidelines HeartCode uses a personalized adaptive algorithm that sets students on the most efficient path to mastery. Students follow a continuously adapting learning path that is personalized by their own inputs: their performance, and their self- reported confidence level related to each probing question. The course content is presented in the form of self-directed learning content, probing questions, and Cognitive Assessment Activities (CAAs).

The Heartsaver CPR AED Online course is taught in a blended learning format. Students must complete the online portion, followed by the hands-on skills session conducted by an American Heart Association Training Center instructor. Students who successfully complete the online course and skills session (sold separately), will receive a Heartsaver CPR AED Course Completion card, valid for two years.

Heartsaver CPR AED provides students the highest quality training in the lifesaving skills of CPR, and use of an AED. This course empowers students to act with confidence in the event of an emergency at work, home, or in the community.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

The AHA’s PALS Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2020 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. This classroom, Instructor-led course uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

*Students wishing to renew BLS CPR skills must have a current BLS Provider card and either a BLS Provider Manual or a HeartCode BLS certificate of completion.

This is the BLS for Healthcare Provider hands-on skills practice and testing session (Parts 2 and 3).  This course is for students who have successfully complete Part 1 (Online) and have receive a certificate that allows them entrance into a skills practice and testing session. An AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers course completion card will be issued upon successful completion of all three parts.

ITLS

ITLS is proud to welcome you to the 9th Edition ITLS Rapid Renewal Provider Update, a blended-learning program. This course combines an online component with the Patient Assessment Evaluation in a live setting (conducted virtually via videoconference during the COVID-19 pandemic) to allow you to quickly, easily and effectively renew your ITLS Provider certification.

Here’s how the ITLS Rapid Renewal Provider Update program works during the COVID-19 pandemic:

1. You must hold a current, valid ITLS Basic or Advanced Provider certification to be eligible to renew through the ITLS Rapid Renewal Provider Update program. If your Provider certification is expired, you can complete the ITLS eTrauma course here: https://www.itrauma.org/education/itls-etrauma/.  Then contact us for the skills session.

2. Purchase and complete the Rapid Renewal Provider Update, a 1-hour online course. A 15- question quiz is built into the end of the course module; a score of 80% or higher is required for successful completion. 3. Print your Course Completion Certificate after successful completion of the Rapid Renewal Provider Update Quiz and Course Evaluation. This certificate is required to schedule a Patient Assessment Evaluation appointment.

4. Contact your local Chapter or Training Centre, or an approved course coordinator, to set up a Patient Assessment Evaluation appointment.

5. Upon successful performance of your Patient Assessment Practical Exam, your ITLS Basic or Advanced Provider Recertification card and certificate will be sent to you by your local Chapter or Training Centre. Your card may be sent by email or hard copy at the discretion of the Chapter/Training Centre. You will also be awarded 1 hour of CAPCE continuing education credit. The credit statement appears at the bottom of the ITLS certificate you receive with your card.
